Printed Motor Works offers printed (pancake) motors to handle extreme acceleration from 0 RPM to 3,000 RPM in 60 degrees of rotation. This is possible due to motors that can handle peak currents up to 10x the continuous rating, creating no torque ripple. Because these pancake motors lack iron cores, they do not store energy to be dissipated during commutation, so they lack arcing as well.
