Oriental Motor offers a broad selection of linear motors. The PK Series of 0.36 and 0.72 degree stepping motors are 0.79" to 3.35" large and RoHS Compliant, and also feature a new pentagon (bipolar) 5-lead wire. Their holding torques start at 0.078 N-m and top out at 6 N-m. The PK Series also comes in 0.9 and 1.8 degree models, with unipolar and bipolar connects (4, 5 and 9 lead wire). Lastly, the company offers a variety of AC and DC input stepping motors packaged with drivers, featuring closed-loop configurations and built-in controllers.

Aerotech's brushless, linear servo motors are meant for use with robots, actuators, tables, stages, fiberoptics/photonics alignment and positioning, and many other industrial automation applications. All linear motors are direct drive and consist of a noncontacting forcer coil and U-channel rare-earth magnet track to eliminate backlash, windup, wear, and maintenance issues found with other positioning systems.

BEI Kimco Magnetics manufactures linear and other motors for use across a range of applications, including medical and scientific, factory and office automation, military, aviation, space systems, and security. H2W Technologies offers an array of linear motor choices. Their 3-phrase, brushless DC motors are ideal for long-stroke, closed-loop servo, and linear motion applications, and can be used at speeds up to 240"/sec, and capable of force to 1,068 N. The LMIC has an iron core and is available in both standard and low profile designs for use in material handling, automatic inspection, bonding, drilling, and similar applications. Other selections include the LMBR brushed linear motor, LMAC linear induction motor, and LMSS and LMDS stepper motors..

Platinum Series direct drive linear motors are featured by Kollmorgen with both iron and ironless (slotless) cores. All of these linear motors are frameless, 3-phase, brushless servomotors with permanent magnets. The IC Series Ironcore provides the highest force per frame size, with up to 8,035 N continuous force and 10,000 N peak force. The ICD is like the IC, but with a lower profile design. It offers between 57 and 315 N continuous force, and 170 to 1,130 N peak force. The IL Series ironless motor, because it has no slots for coil windings, offers low mass and no attractive force between the coil assembly and the magnet way. This makes it ideal for applications requiring very low bearing friction and high acceleration of lighter loads.

Lin Engineering carries a variety of linear stepper motors in NEMA sizes 8, 11, 14, 17, 23, and 34. In addition to standard step motors, the company carries Super Torque models capable of up to 0.89 N-m holding torque, Xtreme Torque models up to 0.68 N-m holding torque, IP65 and IPX7 rated dust-proof, water-resistant, and submersible models, and more. The company also offers integrated motors that combine steppers with some combination of driver, encoder, and controller, as well as BLDC standard torque motors.
