in DC Motors
Kollmorgen produces permanent magnet and brushless motors. Line includes direct drive DC torque motors and permanent magnet type. Direct drivetorque motors features high stall torque for positioning systems, high torque at low speeds for speed control systems, optimum torque at high speed for positioning, rate, or tensioning systems, diameter range from 1.13 to 32 in. PMDC motors include low voltage motors, explosion proof motors, 90 and 180 VDC motors, and "sealed tight food" washdown motors with a HP range from 1/8 to 3. Brushless motors include conventional rotary servo motors, direct drive rotary motors, and direct drive linear motors with high torque/inertia ratio, and high speeds up to 8,000 rpm or 70,000 rpm for special designs.

in Electric Motors
Kollmorgen manufactures electric permanent magnet motors such as brushless servomotors, brushless step motors, AC synchronous motors, and DC motors. Brushless servo motors include conventional rotary servo motors for speeds up to 8,000 rpm, direct drive rotary motors for high performance, direct drive linear motors with eliminated backlash and high stiffness. Two phase stepper motors are maintenance free and move in 1.8° increments. Series of step motors includes CT series of high torque motors, T Series of NEMA Size 23 motors with holding torques to 421 oz-in, POWERMAX II P and M Series of NEMA 23 motors with holding torques from 42 to 253 oz-in, POWERPAC N3, N4, K3, and K4 Series of hybrid step motors in NEMA 34 and 42, KM Series of NEMA 23, 34, and 42 motors with holding torques from 0.52 to 30/8 N-m, MX series of hazardous duty motors in NEMA 34 and 42 sizes with holding torques from 1.27 to 9.82 N-m. Synchronous motors are offered by Pacific Scientific and Superior Electric in frame sizes of 23, 34, 42 and 66. DC motors are offered in a variety of sizes and types including PMDC motors, DC torque motors, and brush motors.

in High Speed Motors
Kollmorgen conventional rotary servo motors are a brushless design with a high speed capability of up to 8000 rpm (17,000 rpm for custom designs). The IC Series direct drive linear motor features 73 to 8,035N (16 to 1,806 lbf) continuous force, and 190 to 10,000 N (42 to 2,248 lbf) peak force. The AKM Series brushless rotary DC servo motor offers speeds up to 8000 RPM, 75 VDC, 120, 240, 480 VAC windings, and 8 frame sizes, 28 frame/stack combinations.

in Linear Motors
Platinum Series direct drive linear motors are featured by Kollmorgen with both iron and ironless (slotless) cores. All of these linear motors are frameless, 3-phase, brushless servomotors with permanent magnets. The IC Series Ironcore provides the highest force per frame size, with up to 8,035 N continuous force and 10,000 N peak force. The ICD is like the IC, but with a lower profile design. It offers between 57 and 315 N continuous force, and 170 to 1,130 N peak force. The IL Series ironless motor, because it has no slots for coil windings, offers low mass and no attractive force between the coil assembly and the magnet way. This makes it ideal for applications requiring very low bearing friction and high acceleration of lighter loads.
-
in Pancake Motors
Kollmorgen features ServoDisc pancake motors featuring a flat, thin armature design rotating in an axial air gap. The result is minimal axial form factor. Its slotless and ironless design creates a motor that exhibits zero cogging during application, in addition to a 12 to 33 Nm torque range, 1.2+ billion revolution operating life, and acceleration that goes from 0 to 4,000 RPM in under 60 degrees of rotation in 10 milliseconds. The DC design and low voltage requirements allow the motor to operate with cost-effective drive electronics or with battery power.
-
in Stepper Motors
Kollmorgen makes a wide line of stepper motors such as their Powermax M and P series Each series is available in 1/2, single, & 2 stack configurations with holding torques of 42 to 253 oz/in.
-
